Holbert Apple Associates, Inc. is engaged solely in the practice of consulting structural engineering. The firm, located in Olney, Maryland, is a small business with a staff of seventeen people.
The senior principal of the firm, David Holbert, has over 40 years of experience in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, as well as national and international experience. The other principals of the firm, David Smith and Nathanal (Nate) Salnick, have a combined experience of over 30 years in the Washington, D.C. area, as well as national and international experience. They have personally designed and managed the structural design for numerous facilities for various county, state, and Federal Government agencies, numerous private owners/developers, architects, and contractors, as well as institutional clients.
The needs of our clients vary greatly and require a sensitivity and understanding of the specific programs for the various types of users. Holbert Apple Associates has a proven ability to incorporate the user’s needs and the designer’s concepts into the elements required for the project’s structure to provide an economical and functional facility. The firm provides services covering all phases of structural engineering for new construction and renovations. These services include evaluations of existing buildings (including renovations, reinforcing and repairs), studies of structural systems in the conceptual stage, preliminary design, final design and working drawings, specifications and general on-site observation of the structural work through the construction phase.
Holbert Apple Associates utilizes a full-capacity CAD drafting and plotting system using AUTOCAD and Revit (BIM) format software. All plan drawings, schedule sheets and details are prepared and plotted in-house.
